実は、そんな彼女にはかつて47キロのスキニー(細身の)モデル時代があったのだとか。細いことが真の"魅力的"なカラダなの?と、彼女も私たちと同じように悩んだのだそう。

そこで、体型をガラリと変えたエミリーの心の変化をコスモポリタン アメリカ版からお届けします。

Before anyone whips out the "I like the before pic better" comments, read the following: - 1st pic: 2008 / 47kg This is before I started strength training. I was only doing cardio & I was obsessed with being as skinny as I could be. I was starving myself & was really unhealthy & unhappy. I suffered depression & had terrible body image. 2nd pic: 2016 / 60kg I now weigh 13kg more, I lift heavy weights & do a little bit of HIIT. I dont do ANY long cardio sessions & I eat more than I've ever eaten in my life. I'm also happier, healthier, stronger & fitter than I have ever been. I no longer obsess over the way I look. I eat & train to feel my best, for overall "health" & longevity. I LOVE having muscle & I feel more confident than ever. When I first started lifting weights 7 years ago, I was finally starting to become healthy & happy for the first time in my life. I had friends at the time telling me I wasn't healthy & was taking it "too far". - This devastated me & had me in tears! I couldn't believe that the people who were supposed to love me weren't happy for me even though I was obviously much happier & healthier than I'd ever been. Luckily I decided not to listen to their put downs and kept going with my new healthy lifestyle & here I am today the best I've ever been, and I no longer have those "so called" friends. I now surround myself with positive, supportive people who are true friends to me! I love my life & I'm so grateful I decided to make those changes several years ago & committed to my healthy lifestyle. Now I'm able to help others become their best too! 😊 - My F.I.T. カラダ改革ビフォアー&アフター。実は右の写真は、13キロ増えているのだとか。自信たっぷりでシアワセそう♡

エミリーのカラダ改革が始まったのは7年前。当時47キロだった彼女は、長時間の有酸素運動をベースに、食事制限をストイックに行っていた。その頃の自身について、「ルックスはよくても、心が泣いていたの。食べたいものも口にできないし、健康的でもない…。決して幸せな生活とは言えなかったわ」と語るエミリー。

そんな彼女が決心したことは、自分自身を"シアワセにしてあげる"ということ。そのためにトレーニング法と食生活を180度改善したのだとか。その美の秘訣がこちら。

【トレーニング法】

有酸素運動 ⇒「HIITトレーニング」

HIITトレーニング(ハイ・インテンシティ・インターバル・トレーニング)」とは、全力で動く運動とゆるい運動を交互に繰り返すトレーニング法のこと。高強度なトレーニングを短時間(20分程度)行うと、高い脂肪燃焼効果が期待できるそう。一般的には、ジョギングなどの有酸素運動の約6倍もの脂肪燃焼効果があると言われているそう!

エミリーは、長時間の有酸素運動を、短時間でできる「HIITトレーニング」に替え、筋トレを強化。ウェイト・リフティングに集中することで筋力がアップし、ヘビーウェイトに挑戦することで、ココロもカラダも強く、たくましく成長!

【食生活】

カラダに良いものをたくさん食べる

食事は、トレーニングをサポートしてくれる大切な役割。「強度な筋トレ」「食事」でシェイプアップする彼女のフードチョイスは、主に脂肪分の少ないタンパク質野菜! 「今まででこんなに食べたことはないわ♡」というボリュームのある内容。

そんな彼女も、やはりスイーツは大好き♡ 「バランスが大切なのよ」とアドバイスしてくれるエミリーは、週に2~3回はデザートを楽しむよう。

「デザートも含め、食べ物をたくさん食べて、その分のカロリーをトレーニングで消費することで、女性のカラダはもっと美しく、魅力的なシェイプに生まれ変わる」のだそう。

炭水化物摂取はNG!という考え方は間違いで、むしろワークアウトのエネルギーとリカバリーのために、炭水化物は必要とのこと。食べ過ぎは脂肪に変わるのでオススメはしないけれど、バランスよく、時間を考えた上で炭水化物を摂取すると、トレーニングで鍛えた筋肉が成長し、より引き締まったボディを手にすることができるみたい。

ということ。彼女自身、13キロの体重増量で、数字だけみると60キロのモデル?と疑問を感じるかもしれませんが、筋肉は脂肪より重いので、筋肉が増えることで体重が増加してしまうのは自然なこと。でも、筋トレで鍛えられたカラダは、より健康的で美しく、ポジティブに見えます。

My complete Meal + Exercise Programs👆🏼Link in my bio. ~ 🍑 BOOTY TALK! 😜 Strengthening and growing my glutes has been a personal goal of mine for quite some time and I have to say I've never been stronger throughout my posterior chain or had more shape in my glutes than I do now! What has really helped strengthen and grow my glutes the most is doing glute activation exercises before training my legs & butt. They switch the glutes on and get them ready to work so I can perform squats, deadlifts, lunges etc. correctly. A lot of people have weak glutes because they spend a lot of time sitting down which switches off the glutes and this can lead to an anatomical imbalance with dominant quads and therefore alter the pelvic position. This puts a lot of pressure on the lower back, hips, knees, feet and so on. Everything is connected so if something isn’t in alignment we usually feel it in many places throughout the body. My favourite glute activation exercises are: Side band walks, monster walks, band squats, clams, band glute bridges, and standing band kickbacks. I also love single leg glute bridges and hip thrusts. I love using a band to work on lateral hip stability, pelvic control and general mobility of the hips and these exercises work on the abduction and engagement of the Gluteal Group. The hip is multi-directionl which means it moves in 3 planes of motion, the sagittal, transverse and frontal plane. When training the hip and activation the glutes the key is to ensure it functions well in all directions. Adding the band creates a challenge to reactively stabilise and control all 3 planes of motion, firing up those glutes just the little bit more! 😉👍🏼 . My Meal & Workout Programs👆🏼Link in BIO ~ I've been reading through a lot of comments on here and I have noticed some common comments: "I don't have time to workout every day", "I can't afford a PT", "I love food too much" etc. You don't have to workout everyday or need a PT to get fit and you definitely don't under eat. When you make eating healthy and being active part of your life long term you don't have to worry about having the odd treat or not being able to exercise for a period of time. People seem to think that I workout for hours every day and I mustn't eat much food to stay lean. This is NOT the case. I can count on one hand how many times I have exercised this past month! I have been busy traveling and have had some time off training but I have been consistently eating nutritious food as well as enjoying treats a couple of times a week. Your diet is the most important if you want to burn fat. Everyone is different & of course what works for one might not work for another. For me I normally like to lift weights and do HIIT a few times a week (usually 3 times) - I train hard when I go to the gym because I personally don't want to spend every day in the gym. I also dislike cardio so I don't do long cardio session, just HIIT. I love my food as well so I have meals that are highly nutritious but also taste amazing. I love eating chocolate & ice cream so I have it 1-2 times a week if I want it. I don't want to live feeling deprived, I want to enjoy my life so that's what I'm doing and it's working. - Physical & mental health is what's important to me. Find what works for you & stick to that! Change up your training to stop plateaus & do what you enjoy. Don't be afraid to have treats but try to have nutritious food most of the time if you want to feel your best. This is my lifestyle & for me it's all about balance, feeling good and enjoying myself. . ✨ I've put everything I know into my F.I.T. 7年前、47キロのスレンダーボディの時代に比べ、幸せ健康的で、心身ともに強く成長することができたと語ったエミリー。
